AN ODE TO OUR ROOTS

From stone carvers to fireplace and interior builders.

1962 - 2011

FIRST GENERATION

- Jos De Backer: starts a stone carving business.

- Mil De Backer: takes over the stone carving business.

- Jos De Backer: works with natural stone and, in 1962, founds Sierschouwen Jos De Backer. He later specializes in fireplaces and stoves.

2012 - 2018

SECOND GENERATION

- Frans De Backer: son of Jos De Backer, takes the lead and expands the focus to include fireplace walls alongside fireplaces.

- Yagho De Backer: joins JDB.

Since 2019

THIRD GENERATION

- Yagho De Backer: takes over daily operations, with an official takeover in 2023.

- Together with his wife Saffo Roggen, he positions JDB as a fireplace and interior design company focused on custom work and craftsmanship.
